A new online study conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of INTOO amongEmployed Americans who plan to stay with their employer for 2 years or more are more likely to say their company supports internal movement.over 900 employed American adults (defined as those employed full-time or part-time) shows that only about one in three Americans (35%) plan to stay with their current employer for two years or more. According to INTOO’s Engaging Employees amid the Great Resignation survey, among employed Americans, those who plan to stay with their employer for 2 years or more are significantly more likely than those who are currently looking for a new job to say each of the following

  • Their company offers training opportunities in-person (38% vs. 22%)
  • They have many opportunities for growth at their company (38% vs. 19%)
  • Their company supports internal movement (31% vs. 18%)

Only about 1 in 5 employed Americans say their manager is skilled at providing career development advice according to INTOO/Harris Poll“Our survey reveals not only that employers aren’t providing employees with opportunities for growth and career development, but also that they’re likely missing out on the benefits that doing so provides an organization, such as increased engagement and productivity, improved employer branding and recruiting, and opportunities for leadership development and succession planning,” says Yair Riemer, CEO of INTOO. “These are missed opportunities that come at a high cost to an employer.”

As only about 1 in 4 employed Americans (26%) say they have many opportunities for growth at their company, attrition rates as a whole aren’t likely to improve without change.
